HCSS ABRAKADABRA album cover

Hey, Everyone,

This one is different or so to say the same from some aspects of one of the last True Rock 'N' Roll Warriors, the Swedish HARDCORE SUPERSTAR ! Ladies and Gentelmen! Right after an emotionally devastating, intellectually almost unbearable COVID period, the mighty HARDCORE SUPERSTAR releases their long-awaited new album ABRAKADABRA on 25th March 2022!

Two exactly stylish, rockin' and so cool singles lead up to this unbelievable album / record which AllPopRock.com wrote earlier here. 'Catch Me If You Can' and 'Weep When You Die' hits like a completely new direction hit from the same band.

Joakim "Jocke" Berg (vocals), Martin Sandvik (bass), Magnus "Adde" Andreasson – drums and Vic Zino (guitars) makes the perfect quartet for loud, real, honest, true and kick-ass sounding modern Rock 'N' Roll at the highest artistic level.

Needed about three of four listen from start to finish, then the 38-39 minutes album / record kicked-in like lightnin' and hurricane hit at the same time. Beautiful highs and lows, crazy dynamics, lyrics full on fire, guitar solos on the maximum musical and technical levels, drums and bass give the power like no other band on planet Earth!

WOLFMOTHER - ROCK 'N ROLL BABY
THE SWEETEST TRIP OF THE YEAR

Wolfmother came out with a really interesting record this time. The guys are clearly got obsessed with '70s Black Sabbath's music as of course many of us have been obsessed since different times according to our ages. Naturally the first thing you will notice is the insane or insanely cool cover. You can decide on whatever you think about.

'Higher' kicks in with a catchy riff and we have those sweet '70s sounding drums and bass come through the speakers soon.

Singer Andrew Stockdale has an excellent voice singing so high notes only the best can musically speaking do well. The enjoyment of his vocal abilities clearly stand out throughout the entire album.

For me as somebody trying to be an objective listener of great music Rock 'N Roll Baby EP starts its real musical journey with the third title called 'Hot Night'. I hope the Wolfmother guys really will not mind this, but I feel just a touch of KISS mixed with Black Sabbath here which is indeed a brilliant combination.

The song 'Kick Ass' starts with a really catchy and kick ass riff then magic happens again rigjt after the first verse. With magic happens I mean pure heartfulling musical brilliance takes place and that is the chorus part of the song. With Hammond organ parts played it adds a really cool layer to the song towards the end of the ride of 'Kick Ass'.

'Spanish Rose' ia basically about a gypsy girl. Interesting chord changes and those painful and orgasm like high vocal notes along the guitar solo makes this piece of music worth to listen.

'Freedom Is Mine' comes and smashes you up then down, elevating the real thing called freedom into your mind.

'Special Lady' is a track which you will surely love if you dig funky and Rock 'N Roll mixed even just a little bit. *Editorial note: that is a tough one to hold the tempo on the drums until the end of the song with that beat. Thumbs up for Wolfmother drummer Vin Steele
To sum it up: Wolfmother Rock 'N Roll Baby is an ultimate stoner record or EP for those who are in love or obsessed with the stoner style itself and those sweet '70s sounding records with lot of huge fuzz effects on it. 8/10
